The dove hunting is a high volume bird hunt and trips are suggested to be 3 days in length. Most will hunt the first afternoon and then dove hunt all day for 2 days. Ending the dove hunt with a morning shoot, then back to Cordoba for the flight home OR a post hunt trip to see the city of Buenos Aires.

The dove hunting season is open year round, so if you prefer warmer weather - come to Cordoba in January or February. If you prefer the cooler days and nights - May to July is your month. The temperatures are mild in Cordoba and do not affect the volume of doves. Hunting Equipment for the Cordoba Dove Hunts:
*Good 20 gauge shotgun.
You may bring your own OR use one of the lodges in stock. There is a fee to enter Cordoba with a shotgun and the fee is paid either at the Buenos Aires International airport or the airport in Cordoba.
Los Gauchos does not charge for use of the lodge guns. Many enjoy bringing their own gun since the shooting is nonstop. However, with baggage limitations just do what is best for you.
Some other important items to pack for your Cordoba hunting trip:
*a hat - the sun can shine bright and the doves can be flying high, so bring your favorite hat to wear.
*sunscreen - again, the sun can be shining anytime of the year and out in the field you will feel the pain if you do not wear some good sunscreen.
*Shooting glove - bring your favorite shooting glove or golf glove. One that will allow you to load and reload quickly and many - many - many times!
Dove Hunting Licenses
All bird hunters must have a hunting license while shooting doves in Cordoba. While there is no bag limit or season in place, there is a hunting regulation to have a hunting license.
Los Gauchos collects short form of data (passport information) and the license is processed so that your group can start shooting the afternoon of arrival.
The fee for the Cordoba dove hunting license recently increased to $70 per day. This is a daily rate and can not be altered if you only shoot in the morning.

If you enter Argentina with your own shotgun - you will pay a fee at the airport where they will issue your temporary license.
Please keep this temporary license with you at all times, you will have to show the officials the license when you depart Argentina or again, another fee and time wasted while the fill out more forms for a "lost" license.

Cordoba is the 2nd largest city behind the capital, Buenos Aires. It has an international airport that dove hunters coming to Cordoba enjoy bypassing the busy Buenos Aires airport for the short stop in Santiago and flying straight into Cordoba.
Argentina is located in the southern hemisphere so the seasons are opposite those in North America, Canada, and Europe. Summertime is December to February. Good warm summertime dove hunting can be experienced with the chance to take advantage of the large LC Lodge pool after a day in the field.
May to August is wintertime and when Cordoba becomes a wingshooting hotspot. Most people travel during the "summer" season and heading down to a cool weather scene is always a positive attribute of Cordoba dove hunts during May, June or July.
